Over the past four or so days we’ve stayed in shelters and (sometimes) hiked with four great dudes from Florida (one now residing in Virginia). David was with us when we crossed the Va/WV a line…hilarity ensued…
We spotted our first morel mushroom one evening at our campsite. The next morning we found several more. It was enough to sauté them in butter for fellow hikers the next night.

Farley has gone lame in sympathy for you; actually, another larger dog stepped on his back left leg in THE DOG PARK, this morning, so it is good he is not hiking anywhere. Looks to us as if you are NOW in the morel majority; remember to shake them in place before picking so the spores fall out to make more little marvels next year. Kitty

The tan is coming along. I’ve also already lost 15 lbs in about 3 weeks…when I get back to Ioway this fall, you probably won’t recognize me. 🙂
